What that website is not saying is the Turnpike is cutting corners wherever they can. They have sign up sheets for OT because they refuse to hire the help they need. So of course some collectors are making that, because they grab all the OT they can. But the Turnpike would rather pay one employee benefits and OT rather than hire 2. But when they put it on paper it looks like we are making a lot of money. I’ve been there 20 years and at the end of each year they send us a list of what it cost them to employ us(payroll,doctors visits, medications,dependants etc) I have never gotten a sheet that read $60k. how do I find out about how to apply for a toll collecting job in maine ??

I understand the job is challenging, I would not want to trade. However, I do find it disturbing that over half of toll collectors receive over 60K a year (MaineOpenGov.Org) . I teach high school chemistry, and my pay scale tops out at about 45K after 20 years. I work a full-time job in the summer, teach summer school and coach two varsity sports, this income is still unattainable to my profession.

So true… they go after us toll collectors yet pay people to go away. Stacy and Dana told me they each got 200k to leave. Sue r also told me she got 200k after mta put her on a jack hammer after a sex harass complaint when she had an injury. When does it end?

Ahh. turnpike Mngt. Some have grown marijuana on the turnpike property, been caught then promoted to supervisor then sexually harassed employees Dana and stacy. Victims leave but this supervisor Mr b still at mta. Waste is not at lower ranks its Mngt that. Many other instances throughout mta. Someone should be held accountable but instead they go after collectors with sin sheets that they won’t give us data for.

Most of these supervisors do absolutley nothing. some sits around in their little cubbiehole playing games on the computer. The only real work they muct do is check supplies and do payroll once a wk. thats it.

Data indicates 17 supervisors. To manage 308 collectors. Sounds a bit over kill to me especially with indicated salaries associated with it.

You think we start out at 18 dollars an hour? Most state workers don’t work rotating schedules and weekends and/or holidays. People have to start worrying about their own problems.
